Fiberoptic intraocular illuminator (A non-powered, invasive, probe-like device designed to penetrate the sclera to conduct cold light from a light source (not included) to the interior of the eye during ophthalmic surgery. It is typically provided with a trocar and a fibreoptic cable; the tip of the device may be flat, rounded, pointed or angled and may also have a connector for ophthalmic instrument attachment. It is not a tubular device intended to provide access for other instruments or for fluid transfer (i.e., not a cannula), and it is not intended for intraocular tissue manipulation.
